Marbella shares the banking sector with Obarrio. For starters you have the headquarters of four banks: HSBC, Banco General, BAC, Banesco, and Bancolombia. Marbella borders Calle 50, Bella Vista, Avenida Balboa, and San Gabriel. Virtually every bank in the country has an office in Marbella.
During the day it is characterized by the high traffic flow of people and cars. There is also a wide range of food options ranging from Burger King, Subway & Pio pio (a local popular fast food chain specializing in chicken) to more upscale restaurants such as Le Bistrot (french), La Posta (Italian) ,Market (a little bit of everything) Palms (fusion). At night this turns into one of the cities epicenters. For starters happy hour at TGI Fridays, featuring the long island iced tea, or Bennigans with its famous 3 for 1 happy hours. The only recommendation is to get in as close to 5pm as possible, otherwise you will not find a parking spot. Later on in the night, there is something for every taste. If bars are your thing you can try the Londoner, a tipical English pub with a wide selection of local and international beers. If you are into a more trendy but chilled scene Prive or Pure Lounges (be prepared to dress well) are good options. Of course if dancing is your move there are also plenty of choices Seis, Guru, Kaos will have a wide range of music and will asure a fun time until late into the morning. Finally if all you want is a karaoke, you can do that too by heading to Starlight lounge.
Other important aspects to consider if you are moving to Marbella area is that there are no grocery stores in this area, however its close access to Paitilla and Bella Vista will get to you a grocery store in just 15 minutes. There are however a few convenience stores (locally called chinitos) where you can obtain anything you need in a hurry. There are also specialty stores, for example, at Felipe Motta, you can find fine wines and liquours from the entire world. In addition they have also expanded the store to include a gourmet section where you can find sorts of imported quality deli meats, breads and cheeses and non-traditional snacks.
If healthcare is your concern, Marbella is the home of Hospital Paitilla, which for over twenty years was famed as the best hospital in the country. Now it is still on the top three.
Marbella is a neighborhood that has it all, it is convenient, upbeat, modern and safe.
